The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) is pleased to welcome Jason Vlastaras, Director of Campus Recreation at Texas State University, as President of the CAS Governing Board.
Vlastaras begins his presidency during a period of significant change for CAS, including the launch of the CAS+ portal and the upcoming revision of the CAS General Standards. As he begins his term, he has identified three priorities to guide CAS in the year ahead, focusing on how CAS supports practitioners, creates opportunities for greater involvement, and builds a sustainable future for the organization. The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) has released the updated 2026 Cross-Functional Framework for Advancing Health and Well-Being, providing higher education leaders and professionals with a renewed resource for strengthening collaborative, institution-wide efforts to support health and well-being.
The 2026 edition replaces the previous Cross-Functional Framework for Advancing Health and Well-Being and reflects a renewed emphasis on collaborative strategies for holistic student support and the well-being of learners and professionals. NACCU was founded in 1993 and is the only member association dedicated to serving professionals who manage campus identification programs in higher education. Its knowledgeable, friendly community of campus professionals is passionate about doing what's best for their campuses and the students and staff they serve, making NACCU an invaluable resource for unlocking the potential of the campus card.
The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) has released the newly updated 2026 CAS Standards for Civic and Community-Engaged Learning Programs, along with the accompanying Self-Assessment Guide (SAG).
Representing a comprehensive revision for 2026, the updated Standards provide higher education professionals with a current framework for developing, evaluating, and strengthening programs that connect student learning and development with meaningful civic and community engagement. |
