The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Christine Self as she concludes her service as Member at Large for User Experience on the CAS Governing Board, effective August 31, 2025. Dr. Self joined the Governing Board in 2022 to complete an unexpired term and was elected in 2023 to serve in her own right. During her time as Member at Large for User Experience, she has provided thoughtful guidance on how CAS can better meet the needs of its users, ensuring that standards and resources are accessible, meaningful, and impactful for higher education professionals.
With over 20 years of experience in parent and family programs, Dr. Self currently serves as Director of Parent and Family Relations at Texas Tech University, where she also earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Research. Since 2019, she has represented AHEPPP: Family Engagement in Higher Education on the CAS Council, where she has contributed her expertise to standards development, including the recently revised Campus Information and Visitor Services Standards. CAS is grateful for Dr. Self’s leadership as Member at Large for User Experience, and we are pleased that she will continue her service on the CAS Council, where her experience and voice will remain an important part of our work. We thank Christine for her dedication and contributions to advancing CAS’s mission and look forward to her continued involvement in shaping the standards and resources that strengthen higher education.
