CAS Thanks Dan Bureau for His Service as Member at Large for Research, Assessment, and Publications

The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) extends its gratitude to Dr. Dan Bureau as he concludes his term as Member at Large for Research, Assessment, and Publications on the Governing Board, effective August 31, 2025.

​Dr. Bureau has been an engaged and impactful leader within CAS for many years. He served as the ninth President of CAS from 2019 to 2021, where he guided the organization through important conversations on the integration of health and well-being into CAS standards and reinforced the importance of cross-functional collaboration in higher education. His presidency reflected his lifelong commitment to advancing holistic student development and ensuring standards remain relevant to the evolving needs of students and institutions.

Beyond his presidency, Dan has continued to provide leadership on the Governing Board, where his role as Member at Large for Research, Assessment, and Publications helped strengthen CAS’s resources and scholarly contributions to the field. His insights and expertise have supported CAS’s mission to advance quality programs and services through rigorous standards and self-assessment.

Currently, Dr. Bureau serves as Associate Vice President for Well-Being at the University of Kentucky, where he continues his career-long commitment to student success, access, and equity.

CAS is grateful for Dan’s years of service on the Governing Board and is pleased that he will continue to serve on the CAS Council, ensuring his experience and vision remain part of our work.

We thank Dan for his leadership and dedication to CAS and look forward to his ongoing contributions to the Council and the field of higher education.
