Concluding CAS's 45th Anniversary Celebration

As the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) nears the end of its Sapphire anniversary celebration, we invite you to look back at an incredible year of milestones, memories, and meaningful progress. This year marked 45 years of CAS raising the bar for standards in higher education—a legacy of excellence that continues to impact institutions and students alike.

Throughout 2024, CAS showcased its enduring commitment to fostering quality in higher education through various initiatives, events, and resources:

• Launch of the Basic Needs Standards and Self-Assessment Guides (SAGs): CAS unveiled groundbreaking new standards to address basic needs insecurities among students, empowering institutions to create environments where all learners can thrive. This initiative culminated in a widely attended webinar, co-hosted with The Hope Center for Student Basic Needs, drawing over 300 participants eager to learn and implement these tools.
• Engaging Stories from Past Presidents: As part of the anniversary celebration, CAS conducted interviews with past presidents, capturing their reflections on the organization’s growth, challenges, and triumphs over the years. These stories provide a rich tapestry of CAS’s journey, highlighting pivotal moments that shaped its influence in higher education.
• Monthly Content and Resources: CAS maintained a dynamic presence through blog posts, newsletters, and social media, sharing insights and practical tools to support the higher education community. From in-depth discussions on emerging standards to celebrating member contributions, CAS kept its audience informed and inspired.
• 45th Anniversary Campaigns: From giveaways to commemorative graphics, CAS celebrated this milestone with its members and supporters, fostering a sense of connection and shared purpose.

This celebratory year also reaffirmed CAS’s mission to provide functional area standards that advance quality programs and services across higher education. The organization’s steadfast dedication continues to serve as a beacon for institutions striving to meet the evolving needs of their communities.
