As part of our 45th anniversary series, we recently had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Laura Dean, who served as President of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) from 2011 to 2014.
Dr. Dean, currently a Professor in the UGA College Student Affairs Administration Program, brought over two decades of experience to CAS, having been deeply involved since 1997 as a board member and later as President. Her tenure was marked by significant contributions, including overseeing the publication of CAS's "Blue Book" and guiding the organization through a period of substantial growth and transition. Recognized for her leadership and scholarly contributions in student affairs, Laura Dean continues to shape the field through her research on assessment and professional standards.
