Jeff Nelson Appointed CAS Member at Large for Finance & Administration

​The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Nelson to serve as Member at Large for Finance & Administration, beginning September 1, 2025.

Nelson currently serves as Vice President for Industry Collaboration and Development at the National Association of College Stores (NACS), where he leads educational programs, consulting services, and promotion of the CAS Campus Store Standards. He has been an active contributor to CAS for more than a decade, representing NACS on the CAS Council from 2007 to 2012 and again since 2019, and played a pivotal role in developing the Campus Store Standards in collaboration with CAS.

Starting his career as a student employee in a campus store, Nelson has over 45 years of experience in higher education, holding leadership positions in collegiate retail, auxiliary enterprises, and association management, as well as helping to launch two corporate universities. His professional background includes work with hundreds of institutions and campus stores throughout the United States and Canada.

Throughout his career, Nelson has been recognized as an engaged and innovative industry leader, adept at navigating the rapidly changing collegiate landscape while championing digital content and affordability initiatives. In addition to his CAS service, he has held leadership roles on numerous boards of directors, advisory boards, and committees. He holds a master’s degree in human resource development, a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and has designed and delivered numerous educational programs and resources.
