Presidential Citation Proclamation Honoring Carol Miller Schaefer

For more than a decade, Carol Miller Schaefer has been a steadfast leader, contributor, and champion of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education's mission. Her dedication, expertise, and unwavering support have strengthened CAS and advanced its work across the higher education community. In recognition of her remarkable service and deep commitment, CAS formally presents the following proclamation.

Carol Miller Schaefer has been duly recognized and appropriately honored by the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education as a 2025 Presidential Citation Recipient for 12 years of outstanding service and exemplary leadership to CAS.

During which time she served as the representative for the National Association of College Stores (NACS), served on multiple standards revision committees, was responsible for shepherding the first ever standards for College Stores, established the CAS Financial Advisory Committee, and served on the Governing Board as Member-at-Large for Administration and Finance from 2018 to 2025.

Now be it therefore known, that Carol Miller Schaefer is to be honored with the title and the rights and the privileges of "CAS Member Emeritus" and further, that this citation be presented to her and read at the CAS Council of Representatives meeting in November of 2025, and be spread across the minutes of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education so that all may recognize her contributions and leadership.

Therefore, by the authority vested in me as the President of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education, I do hereby set forth my hand and cause to be affixed the seal of CAS.
