For more than four decades, the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) has provided higher education professionals with trusted standards and guidelines to support program quality, assessment, student learning, and continuous improvement. Now, CAS is making it easier to put those standards into practice with CAS+.​

Explore CAS Standards in a New Way

At the center of CAS+ is Explore, which allows users to engage with CAS Standards through a more interactive experience. Users can ask questions in plain language, explore functional areas and General Standards, and identify standards and resources relevant to their work.

Explore is grounded in CAS intellectual property, Standards, and resources, providing contextual guidance based specifically on CAS content rather than searching the open web.

The CAS+ Free option provides access to Explore, allowing higher education professionals to become familiar with the CAS Standards and the platform before beginning a formal assessment process.

Turn Standards into an Assessment Process

For professionals ready to move from exploration to implementation, SAG Studio provides tools for creating customized Self-Assessment Guides (SAGs).

With CAS+ Individual, users can build a customized SAG using one selected CAS Standard, choose the relevant portions of the Standard, organize notes, evidence, ratings, and action plans, and generate a structured, fillable Microsoft Word document to support planning and reporting.

Rather than relying solely on a static resource, CAS+ helps practitioners turn the Standards into a working assessment process.

For divisions and institutions conducting broader assessment efforts, CAS+ All Access expands those capabilities across multiple standards and users. Institutions can combine standards, create customized assessment guides, and support a consistent approach to assessment across departments and functional areas.
