Council Meeting

CAS holds an annual convening for all Council Representatives annually.  This meeting is typically held in the month of November.  All CAS Representatives are invited but at least one representative needs to attend.  CAS has adopted a hybrid approach to the annual convening, offering a virtual connection for those that have a conflict with dates, limited association budgets or institutional travel restrictions.
CAS will send out an agenda approximately 2 weeks prior to the meeting, including a consent agenda.  It is expected that Council Representatives will come to the meeting prepared.

CAS’s culture is collegial and friendly.  One of the outcomes of this in-person meeting is to create or strengthen relationships with each other.  Council Representatives are expected to contribute to the discussions and volunteer for one of the many working committees of CAS.

Council Representatives are also expected to keep your association leadership, including your Executive Director and governing board informed of the Council’s work.  For CAS to reach a wider audience of association members, Council Representatives should promulgate the work of CAS by writing articles or presenting CAS sessions at the association’s annual conference.  And, Council Representatives should promote CAS materials and resources that are for sale.

CAS appreciates the work of all Council Representatives who contribute significantly to the work of CAS, driving student learning and success forward in higher education.
