CAS Past President Gavin Henning Awarded NASPA Outstanding Contribution Award

CAS is delighted to congratulate Gavin W. Henning for being recognized by NASPA with the George D. Kuh Award for Outstanding Contribution to Literature and/or Research. This award, named for the Chancellor's Professor Emeritus at Indiana University and Director of the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA), honors an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime commitment to research and scholarship in higher education. Honorees presented with this award have conducted work that addresses important and substantial issues, and has had a significant or transformative effect on higher education and student affairs practice in a national or international context.
Gavin Henning, Ph.D. is currently a Professor of Higher Education and Program Director for the Master's of Higher Education Administration at New England College. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education Leadership and Policy Studies and a Master of Arts degree in Sociology both from the University of New Hampshire as well as a Master of Arts degree in College and University Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from Michigan State University. Dr. Henning has nearly 30 years of experience in higher education. He has served as a past president of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) and ACPA – College Student Educators International. His work aims to improve higher education programs and services.
The awards will be presented at this year's NASPA Annual Conference April 1-5, 2023 in Boston. Congratulations to Gavin for this prestigious award!
