CAS Council Member Dennis Gregory was recently awarded the NASPA Award for Academic Excellence. CAS extends warmest congratulations to council member Dennis Gregory on his recent selection as the recipient of NASPA's Robert H. Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member.
Established in 1986, this award, named for a Dean and Professor Emeritus at Indiana University, is presented to a tenured, full-time faculty member in a graduate preparation program in student affairs. Each Robert H. Shaffer Award recipient has inspired graduate students and served on doctoral dissertation committees; has a distinguished record of scholarly achievement, including publication in relevant literature; and has made significant contributions to professional associations. Dennis Gregory, Ed.d. is currently an Associate Professor of Higher Education and Community College Leadership at Old Dominion University. Dr. Gregory received his Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Administration and his Masters of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Virginia. Before beginning his current role as a faculty member, Dr. Gregory worked for twenty-five years in student affairs. He is the current representative for the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA) on the CAS Council. The awards will be presented at this year's NASPA Annual Conference April 1-5, 2023 in Boston. Congratulations to Dr. Gregory on this honor!
