In August, the CAS Governing Board met to thank Ralph Johnson for his time as president and welcome Gayle Spencer to the role. On August 17th, the CAS Governing Board met for Ralph Johnson’s final Governing Board meeting as acting CAS President. Joining them on this call, all living CAS Past Presidents attendees to celebrate Johnson’s successful presidency, and offer advice and congratulations to incoming CAS President Gayle Spencer. Many stories, lessons learned, and well wishes were shared with Gayle during this time of sentiment and encouragement.
At the beginning of her term, Gayle shared her first president’s message with CAS users: “It is my honor to begin my term as the 11th President of the Council of the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). As I begin a two-year term as President, please know that CAS will be scanning the environment for all things that may impact our ability to assess our programs and services, while still ensuring we are providing all students the education experiences they deserve.“
