Student affairs faculty are invited to access the free CAS Faculty Resource Packet, a resource full of useful tools to assist faculty in learning and teaching about CAS.
CAS invites student affairs professionals to utilize the popular (and free!) Faculty Resource Packet for fall semester planning this year.
The CAS Faculty Resource Packet is a resource specifically created for the use of student affairs faculty. Faculty can download this resource for free in the CAS store at https://store.cas.edu/faculty-resource-packet/.
This packet includes useful tools and resources to assist faculty in learning and teaching about CAS. Below is a brief description of the tools available in this resource:
CAS Course Activities - CAS is often introduced in assessment courses in graduate preparation programs. But there are many ways that CAS can be used to educate graduate students about the field. The CAS Course Activities document provides suggestions for teaching activities across courses that leverage CAS.
Using CAS in the Job Search document - Developed by a new professional and former CAS Intern, this document provides easy, straightforward suggestions for students to use CAS in the job search process. Faculty may find this a helpful resource when supporting students in that process.
CAS Learning Domains and Dimensions - This document identifies the CAS Learning Domains and Dimensions which can be useful when discussing learning goals and outcomes.
CAS Standards for Professional Practice (10th Ed.) Chapters 1 and 2 - The CAS Standards for Professional Practice in Higher Education (also known as the Blue Book) is a mainstay CAS resource. The first two chapters of this book provide foundational information regarding CAS and CAS Functional Area Standards.
CAS General Standards SAG - The CAS Self-Assessment Guide is the worksheet that is used during implementation of a CAS Self-Study. This SAG for the general standards provides an example of a SAG and is a useful tool for teaching the self-study process.
CAS Basics Slide Deck - This set of slides provides an overview of CAS and its resources. Faculty may wish to use it when teaching students about CAS.
Supervised Practice Assessment Resource Paper - This resource paper provides guidance regarding how to use CAS in supervised practice.
Supportive Means to Acclimate Graduate Students and New Professionals Resource Paper - This resource paper provides guidance regarding how to use CAS to introduce graduate students to the field of student affairs and higher education.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
