June is recognized nationally as Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Raising awareness for men’s mental health is important in reducing the stigma associated with mental health problems and encouraging those suffering to seek help.
CAS is proud to offer a variety of resources for higher educational professionals that are relevant to promoting mental health wellness and combating issues associated with mental illness.

CAS is proud to recognize the historical and timely importance of the Juneteenth holiday, celebrating freedom, unity, and resilience. On June 19, 1865, nearly two years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved African Americans in Texas were informed of this decree and were granted their freedom. Since then, Juneteenth has been regarded as a day of celebration of freedom for many in the United States.
CAS offers resources for higher education and student affairs professionals to ensure their institutions are providing adequate services and programs to support their LGBTQ+ faculty and students.
Pride Month is a monthlong observance dedicated to the celebration of LGBT pride, commemorating the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender culture and community.
As CAS's Sapphire Anniversary celebration continues, CAS Immediate Past President, Ralph Johnson, was joined by the ever-colorful Susan Komives, the organization's fifth president. In their smile-filled interview, the two discussed the past, present, and future of CAS, taking what Ralph described as a "run down memory lane."

As a leader in higher education for 45 years, CAS has developed 50 sets of functional area standards and 3 cross-functional frameworks within diverse areas of the college student experiences.

As CAS continues to celebrate 45 years of raising standards, we commemorate the organization's evolution and growth through recognition of the 10 Past Presidents who guided the Council along the way. This month, we honor CAS's fourth President, Jan Arminio.
